In the Summer of 2022, I had to opportunity to partner with Burgundy Advertising Group in order to provide marketing content for Father Ryan High School. Over the two day production, we photographed a variety of kids recreating a day in the life of a high schooler. The lifestyle imagery we created has been used for Father Ryan’s website, social media, and internal print.
The students and faculty were troopers during these two very hot days. While we did photograph content throughout different classrooms and libraries and such, we did spend a good amount of time outside.
Creating lifestyle imagery is something I am passionate about, however, it can be difficult at times. We create a scene, and then trying to encourage spontaneous moments of emotion that come across as both natural and ashtetic. Thankfully in this situation, if you put a group of high school kids in a group and let them goof off, those moments are easy to find.
Capturing emotions is what I chase when I am photographing people. The subtleties in peoples actions that often go unnoticed in everyday life can tell an entire story if captured at the right second. Finding those moments and mixing that lifestyle photography into a commercial photography world is one of my favorite things to do.
